"I underwent homeopathic treatment here for approximately three years for hypothyroidism, which was later identified as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. Initially, treatment was started for hypothyroidism without investigating the autoimmune cause. Almost two years into treatment, I was advised to undergo an Anti-TPO test, after which Hashimoto’s was discussed. During this period, I followed strict lifestyle and dietary recommendations, including avoiding dairy, gluten, and processed foods, along with yoga and other measures, which I continue to follow even now. Despite consistent treatment, significant time, effort, and financial resources were spent without clarity on the contents of the medicines, a defined treatment plan, or a realistic timeline for outcome. At the start of treatment, I was informed that improvement or cure would be seen within 6 months to 1 year. However, even after three years, there was no meaningful change, and I found myself back at the same stage. I was also taking levothyroxine during this entire period. After independently reviewing medical literature, I learned that Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is an autoimmune condition for which no permanent cure is currently recognized, and that standard management involves thyroid hormone replacement rather than curative treatment. I wish I had been given clearer, evidence-based information earlier, as it would have helped me make more informed decisions. I am sharing my experience so that future patients can ask detailed questions, seek appropriate testing early, and make fully informed choices regarding their care."
